Happy Birthday Mike!

Mike turns 44 today! Happy Birthday Mikey! Rylie thought it would be great to add a Hello Kitty candle to his favorite pie. For his birthday all he wanted to do was watch college football and have hamburgers for dinner. Lucky me!

I Told Them It Was COLD But . . .

With the temperature outside only 77 and the pool a chilly 68 degrees Race, Rylie and my niece Katie still wanted to go swimming today. Brrrrr! They spent more time laying out drying and warming up than they did in the pool! Just a few more weeks and it will be hot enough so that they can spend all day in the pool.

Spring Break and the Phoenix Zoo

We're nearing the end of our Spring Break and April and I took our youngest kids (Rylie, Race and Ashton) to the Phoenix Zoo. (Our older children are on the Stake Pioneer Trek.) The kids all had a good time, the weather was perfect, and their favorite exhibit was the "Stingrays". Who knew petting stingrays could be so fun! We also rode camels, as you can see from the picture of April and me. Lots of fun!

Good News!

YEAH!!! Okay, good news is on the horizon. I'm getting a new camera - woo hoo! Plus, I learned how to use my scanner today. This is our Christmas picture from last year. I'm new at this, hence the crooked picture, but who cares! I even did a little dance around the room when it really worked! It's just amazing all the things you can do if you just follow the directions!

My Camera Died!

I'm going crazy! My camera died yesterday and I gave away my other digital camera thinking I'd never need it and the other camera that I have is an old film loaded one. I can't go back to using that after the convenience of a digital camera. I'm hoping Mike gets me an early birthday present! Until then, no more pictures :-(

Where's My Eyebrow?

What do you think of this? Mike thought his eyebrows were getting a little too bushy, so he decided to trim them a little. He thought that his trimmer had the attachment on it that would allow him to trim them by just going over his brows. Wrong! He ended up shaving off half of his eyebrow. The real funny part of this is that he had a national meeting he was going to the very next day. He wasn't embarrassed though, he just said he'd have a good story to tell!

My Plantation Shutters

So how do you like my plantation shutters? We had sheets and blankets up for 5 months because I didn't want to go out and buy just anything to cover my windows! So, for our anniversary, Mike bought me these beautiful shutters. Thankfully they were installed 3 days before Thanksgiving - just before all the family came over! You can also see the color I am painting the downstairs. I love the "milk-chocolately" color!

Soccer Mania

Race and Mike went to see the LA Galaxy and the Chicago Fire play at ASU stadium last night. Race is a HUGE soccer fan. Race was disappointed that he didn't get to see David Beckham, but had a great time anyway.

Working on My School Project

Here I am working on my school project. I actually created this blog for my computer class at school, and now I'm completely hooked. Just after I created it I helped my friend drive to downtown Phoenix to purchase a car. The whole way there I kept thinking of all the creative, cool things I could add to my blog!

My How They've Grown

Just look at how much my kids have all grown. Chance is already taller than Mike and Keaton isn't far behind. We're keeping our fingers crossed for Race; he's growing, but very slowly. Rylie has already caught up to him and will pass him up soon! Here we are at the Mesa Temple in November '08.

I've Created a Blog!

Hello Family and Friends!! Well, I did it. I finally got around to creating our family blog. Who would of thought! Four years ago I didn't have an e-mail address, 2 years ago I had never texted before, and now a blog. Go figure! At least I have my kids to keep me hip and up-to-date! We are still trying to get settled in our home. We've only been in Gilbert now for 9 months. I can't believe our year mark is coming up soon. Here is a picture of our home after the landscaping was put in. Thank goodness for that - I was getting tired of all the dirt and dust! Now I'm working on getting the inside painted. I have already painted 6 walls but have many more to go!

Our New Pool

Finally! Our pool was completed at the end of September. Just in time for the kids to use it for a couple of months before the cooler weather hit us. Race and Rylie even swam in November! The rest of us didn't get in - we stood back and had fun watching! Now we're just waiting for the weather to get a little warmer and we can all get in and enjoy the pool.
